Tragedy
The Vihiga County Secretary and head of public service Ezekiel Ayiego has passed on. In a notice seen by KNA, Governor Dr Wilber Ottichilo said he unexpectedly passed away at his residence in Wamuluma ward last night.
“It is with deep sadness that I have learned of the passing of Mr Ezekiel Marley Ayiego, who was serving as the County Secretary and Head of County Public Service in the Vihiga County Government at the time of his death,” reads the statement.
He described him as a committed administrator, educator, change advocate, a highly efficient CS who implemented reforms in the county public service. The 57-year-old, who had been seen as the governor’s right hand man, held the position for four years.
