War on illicit brews, drugs is unstoppable, declares DP Rigathi

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua said that war against illicit brews must be won  and the crusade was unstoppable.

Rigathi said the Government will not relent in the war.

He said he was not afraid  of the death merchants disguising themselves as entrepreneurs.

The DP  explained he was ready to face the merchants of death and would not succumb to threats and other forms of intimidation.

” I am ready to pay the political price to restore the dignity of the people, especially the youth and our future,” said the DP  at Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA)  Gateway Church in Roysambu, Nairobi during the induction of Rev. David Chege.

He added that  only legitimate businesses will be allowed to thrive to support the economy.

“Illicit brews are killing our children. The youth are sleeping in trenches. We were staring at losing an entire generation. That is why the Government issued tough directives against Illicit brews, drugs and substance abuse. We are not fighting businesses, which are selling legitimate liquor,” he said.

The DP dismissed calls from some quarters withdrawing from the war on the illicit brews as it would amount to loss of votes.

“I was not born in the seat of the Deputy President. If I lose politically  for stopping poison packaged as alcohol being sold to our children, so be it,” affirmed the DP.

He reminded Kenyans that there is no pride in leading a drunken nation, zombies and those without dignity.

” War on eradication of the illicit alcohol menace and drugs will lead to a productive nation, with people living in dignity,” said Rigathi accompanied by his spouse Pastor Dorcas.

The service was led by the Nairobi North Presbytery Moderator Rev Philip Gichuri.

Nairobi Governor Johnson  Sakaja, MPs and MCAs.
